Vintage Carnival!

It was a really fun summer!  I had the pleasure of working with Chelsey of Events & Experiences on this fun Vintage Carnival scheme and  it was one of my favorites, I LOVE  turquoise and pinks. Layered Bake Shop made the most vibrant turquoise cake and the circus animals made it perfect with the theme. They are REALLY great with color and design, not to mention taste!

Loren with Top Banana Photography grabbed some shots before Landry’s party and here they are, enjoy!

Shabby Chic Picnic Birthday Party

Grace’s shabby chic 1st birthday party was the prettiest of pretty parties! I had such a blast spending the day with this family in Sunnyvale. Janice and Jon are superstar parents and Grace’s big sister Faith is so funny and smart.

The food was heavenly! Pulled pork slider sandwiches for adults, peanut butter and jelly for the kids, kettle chips, individual ice cream, an assortment of mini pies, mini bunt cakes and coconut cake! I was lucky enough to sample the desserts Janice made and they were so delicious. The mini pies were from a cute pie company called Scrumbscious in Mesquite.

The vintage rentals from Rent My Dust blended perfectly with the style of the home and I just love that.

Co-Ed Orange Baby Shower

The orange color scheme of this baby shower in Allen, Texas was the perfect choice for the modern Mom and Dad to-be.
The party decor fit perfectly with the existing decor of their home and was also gender neutral to appeal to all of the guests! There were two different food tables to help guest circulate throughout the home, a sweets table and a savory table. Here are a few images from the party!

Handmade Mason Jar Red Apple Cooler

There’s nothing like enjoying a refreshing drink at the patio on a hot Texas summertime day. I’ve started to create a signature drink (or two, or three) every summer to have on-hand for when company stops by. I think my newest drink recipe is wayyy yummy and I hope you’ll try it out! Oh and by the way, I don’t include measurements in my drink recipes….taste and serve is my motto.

I’m so excited that we’re featured in 4 pages of The Knot Texas magazine!!! Ever since The Knot editors contacted me I’ve been so eager to see this on the stands. Matt brought in a box of these pretty little glossies that arrived on our doorstep and we toasted with wedding cake and champagne, perfect timing for our one year anniversary!

A special thank you to Wendee with Unexpected Elements and Anne Marie Photography in Austin. I’ll shout it from the rooftops, I loved all the wedding professionals that played a part in our wedding day!

Hans & Michelle’s Wedding at The Ft. Worth Petroleum Club

Hans Lansberger and Michelle Steckel are made for each other; you can just feel it when you’re around them. The couple met at Texas Tech in 2003 and have been attached ever since. Michelle is a big fan of color and has such a soft and sophisticated personality. Her sweetie Hans is one of the most outgoing engineers that I’ve ever met; he always has Michelle on his mind.  I was so excited to be part of  the couple’s wedding at the Ft. Worth Petroleum Club, it was a wonderful day!
Thank you for letting me share in your wonderful wedding day Mr. & Mrs. Landsberger!

Handmade Tea-Stained Box!

I totally need to be better about this whole blogging thing. I’m gonna get better about it I promise 🙂 In the meantime, take a peek at my next “Handmade with Shawna” feature that I brewed up (heehee) on the HELMUTWALKER Photography blog right here

Handmade Woodburned Place Card Alternative

It’s time for my next handmade feature with my friends at HELMUTWALKER Photography, a woodburned place card alternative! It’s just a little spin on the traditional paper place card that will make your guests smile.

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of loving woodburned art, it fits well with so many schemes. I wanted the place setting below to be tropical with a hint of rustic. Having a rustic element doesn’t mean you have to have a full-on rustic event.

You can see my how-to and the lovely description by Raelyn and Laura when you visit their blog at this link
